Betfair Account Restrictions & closed accounts - Getting them removed and accounts reopened
I re-read that now and spotted that paragraph. The newsletter hasn't been very interesting reading for a while so only skimmed it.ShaunWhite wrote: ↑Wed Jul 07, 2021 10:01 pmJune newsletter. Think it was about 2 weeks ago.
It's funny as I followed up with Betfair about a post on this thread and got nothing back. You would have thought they would at least have the courtesy to point me to that!
just to update on the limits shenanigans. as mentioned, I deposited £500 last week and then on sunday withdrew £1500. I then on monday deposited £750. Neither of these actions caused my Limits to be affected in any way and my playerprotection page still shows:
So, I reckon it's probably ok to make deposits and withdraw if you are inside certain parameters. what those may be, who knows - but I seem to be ok (for now).

Betfair keep flooding me with emails about responsible gambling recently. They want me to speak with them otherwise my account will be restricted. Anyone experiencing same issues at the moment? I've got no gambling issues at all, didnt deposit any amounts there since ages so I wonder what is that all about, what exactly they need to know, anyone please? I prefer to be well prepared before contacting them as I've got no idea at all why they even bother me.

Btw what if I dont speak to them? What I noticed about restrictions is 100 euro/day budget abovementioned, should I expect any further restrictions imposed?

Just be straight with them. You've probably just fallen into that category because they can't quite figure you out from your betting patterns, and the culture since the Gambling Commission review has been to err on the side of caution. Betfair want customers (regardless of how it might seem) so they'll usually work with you if you're legit.RyanWolf wrote: ↑Thu Jul 15, 2021 12:53 pmBetfair keep flooding me with emails about responsible gambling recently. And remember it's just a box ticking excersise, checking 1000s of customers even if they all "pass" looks good when they have to defend letting a few through the net who end up doing themselves harm. It's like the questions when you get a gun licence, doesn't mean they think every one is a murderer but they have to ask.
Spoke with them, answered few questions and got told that my account is unrestricted now. But still keep getting emails reminding me about responsible gambling. Weird stuff, after that conversation Im pretty sure main thing they dont like is number of hours I spend online. Its more than 12 hours daily. Considering the fact I trade there its a must. I thought Im fine now but looks like I dont or they got buggy system sending same emails over and over again doesnt matter if you spoke with them or not.

I think they called me on the 28th June but never answered just thinking it was a random marketing sales call. Then noticed I had a monthly deposit limit of £500 placed on my account until I talk to them. So since 30th June every couple of days I speak to that stupid chat box and was told someone would call me I'm in a queue. How long is this queue lol.
Spoke to them via chat box, answered instantly within 2 mins. Then I noticed that they removed my 100 euro deposit limit. But as I remember that was daily limit not monthly, I was expecting them asking me to speak with them over the phone but was asked if Im fine answering questions via chat box.
I just triggered an account closure on one of my accounts.
All I did was change the address and it logged me out and said sorry, we have closed your account. Currently trying to reopen it.
Be very, very careful of updating any details on your account. Especially if you have more than one.

I've been really frustrated since the clocks went forward with Betfair times being displayed in GMT. But after seeing Peter's post I decided to check I've updated my address when I moved, realised you can change the time zone, switched it to UK time, and now I'm panicking - they might close my account.
