Yeah another attacker would have been nice but its essentially the same squad as two years ago, more midfield options though even with Gini gone.
Saturday might give us a clue, can't wait to see VVD against Lukaku!

I hope he walks on a free transfer next season with a Champions Lge winners medal and gives 2 fingers to everyone on the way out the doorRealrocknrolla wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 2:47 pmhttps://bleacherreport.com/articles/100 ... g-director
He will do much better than that turnip Pablo Mari did.Saturday might give us a clue, can't wait to see VVD against Lukaku!
Hoping for one last transfer surprise, there is a spot now that Shaqiri is goneTrader Pat wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 2:48 pmYeah another attacker would have been nice but its essentially the same squad as two years ago, more midfield options though even with Gini gone.

Y, I was going to use the word stale. I think that's more appropriate.Kai wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 2:45 pmA bit stale, more than tired. Actually for players like Mane and Salah this was the most rest they've had in years, and I think the longest pre-season as well for everyone including Klopp. Firmino came back last but will get plenty of rest on the bench because Jota seems to have taken his false nine position for now, he's a bit of a poacher.
I would agree, that Liverpool period last season when they couldn't score at home no matter the opposition was brutal and almost so costly. I would love for Klopp to drop the false 9 approach and switch it up with an energetic striker like Haaland instead and to keep evolving his style of play.Euler wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 3:01 pmY, I was going to use the word stale. I have this view that you can only play a system or style for a short period before opponents learn to nullify it. So unless you keep changing your system or the players you will find it harder and harder.
Only shambles was Kane ... went public before Levy had agreed to let him go. That probably made Levy even more determined to get his cash. Kane was warned that Levy is a very hard negotiator, he was wrong to think he could put pressure on Levy.Trader Pat wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 2:02 pmWhat a shambles from start to finish!
Looks like Daniel Levy is due some love from Spurs fans
I'm a Gooner but have to admit they had no answer to Lukaku and I don't think many others will. It was good to see a strong, old fashioned No. 9 take control around the opposition's penalty area, holding the ball up and distributing it dangerously. I think he will have a big influence on the PL this season not just in scoring but also by creating goals with direct assists and by drawing defenders out of position to cover him.
