I was amazed by the markets yesterday, they were so poor! I kept checking my connection, my PC and anything else I could think of just in case it wasn't just low volumes. Sadly I could find nothing so after 5 races I decided to take a break. I came back and checked again but nothing had improved so I went for a walk.

I then returned to check the evening markets and whilst I made a small profit on some races I gave it back on the next. It soon became apparent that noting had improved so I switched off the PC.

Let's hope things improve over the coming days.

Yesterday was very testing for me! I tried my hardest to stay calm and patient, I was up and down a few quid all day then it got the best of me and I went in big to try and make something and got burnt, my usual problem. I traded till 9:15 and managed to pull my loss (£180 ish) back and make a small profit £64 for the day, it was all from the last 3 races though, even the evening meetings were crap!

Off to a much better start today! liquidity greatly improved, caught nice drift on 2nd Fav 1410 yarmouth! if only id stayed in longer, I knew it had the potential to drift, but I pulled out at 6 ticks!

You finding it okay today then? Very sticky for me with prices not moving smoothly; could just be my BT internet connection though, although it seems fine on speedtest.

I had a very tough time of it yesterday, the markets seemed unusually weak. I had terrible trouble getting filled on orders and if I did get filled it was only because the price was shooting off 400 ticks into the distance. Very few markets conformed to what would be considered 'normal' standards.

I have a lot of empathy for people who struggled yesterday as I put in my worst performance for some while!

I dug out the stats this morning to take a broad look at things: -

Turnover was about the same as last year, but both years were significantly down on 2009. 2009 had an average field size of 11 runners, 2010 9.8 runners and yesterday 9.5. So those are headline differences I can see.
