Anyone know how he lost all his money? No mention of it in the press.

He was made bankrupt in Germany 2002 for similar offences but given a suspended sentence back then.

He blew £38 million on ex wives, child maintenance payments, £22,000 per month rent on a Wimbledon house, designer clothes and jewellery.

It’s now all gone.

Jesus that’s worse than Mike Tyson for blowing money.

A far cry from that exuberant talented 17 year old we saw win Wimbledon. Pretty sad really. He'll be out in 12 monthsish then his best option is publish his memoirs. Will be interesting to see if a) the BBC cling on to Wimbledon b) he will be asked to be a pundit.
The Beeb has employed criminals before (eg Leslie Grantham) so maybe there is some hope for redemption. But really, what a twit! Reminds me of that film "Spend, Spend, Spend" about a pools winner that blew the lot.

Apparently, he got a woman pregnant after a one-night stand and has been paying child maintenance ever since. What an expensive shag.

The two and a half years is down to showing no remorse, humility or acceptance of wrongdoing. I don't know why so many people do this, but once the games up and you know you're not getting off, just a little bit of regret expressed might give you a year of your life back.

Does it matter? It's just our psychology, I believe the term is hedonic treadmill

If you look at the data the majority of lottery winners end up bankrupt, it would likely happen to you as well :)

It's curious how people manage it, our own lotto lout being the best example.

I went into Burger King today and paid £1.99 for a burger via the app. But when I look at the menu and see burgers for £6-7 I think to myself, I could win the lottery and still wouldn't be willing to pay that much (unless I had a bird who liked BK). FFS, it's just a burger!

Talking of the hedonic treadmill, the lotto lout takes some beating! I once went to the marketplace for a cup of coffee and was told I just missed meeting him by a few minutes, not that I'd want to meet him. I certainly wouldn't waste millions on prostitutes - they're not that expensive.
