For me 31st August is last day of summer, I know you can get very pleasant and warm days right through mid October but this will stand and I feel wistful as May, June and July are my fave months
I replied to the wrong post.
Last year we had a cold and miserable September, it felt more like November. But going back over the last 10-15 years we've had a few very mild Octobers with 21ºC highs and some mild December/Januarys with temperatures in the mid-teens. We could really do with a mild one this winter.
Indeed so. Much as I respect Martin Lewis's output, being given a calculator that confirms my own calc that my energy bills will rise from 111 to 199 a month is still a strangely annoying.
Lets hope for an Indian summer (assuming that's not a non-PC phrase, of course, did google it but got bored v.quickly). And a mild winter, although I could do with a harsh winter to reduce the pigeon count.
Good grief they are so plentiful now. My tree-cutter said pigeons are a pain, They breed like rabbits and all year round, so are a real obstacle to tree-pruning as its illegal to disturb a nest.
My problem with pigeons is the incessant cooing. When do they actually flipping feed? And why do they have to have a coing contest while I'm trying to extract the last dregs of sleep from the early morning.
Flipping good job for them that I don't own a gun.
OK that's quite a tangental post but, hell, this is Rantsville!
