I think The monarchy should die with Her Majesty The Queen. They have become now little more than celebrities , fodder for the newspapers. And we are expected to bow to these people, our betters
Rather have a Monarchy than a President.

Governments come and go – they can even be toppled – but Monarchy endures. The continuity a Sovereign brings to their country ensures stability through a single figure!

I wouldn't like to be one of those guards standing by the coffin. How many hours do they have to stand still before being replaced?
It's only 20 minutes!

President Johnson, President Truss, President Blair....should I stop now? I think you get my thoughts. A President is at best a figurehead (we've already got one). At worst they are corrupt Nixon, Trump.
I prefer our system. Monarchy? Fine so long as noone like Andrew gets the Crown.
Personally, I think Anne is a chip of both blocks. Straight-talking but I believe hard-working and still has her parents sense of duty.

If I believed in god I'd be praying for someone like Andrew to take the throne. It's the only way monarchists would see any sense. :)

Perhaps. I'd be quite happy with Anne as Queen.
But I would resate the horror os "President Johnson, President Truss, President Blair".
Need I say more?

That's not how a republic works. Johnson/Truss/Blair would still be PM and parliament would wield most of the power. The president would have limited executive powers.

flipping hell! The Archbishop of Canterbury's giving bereavement advice to people struggling to cope with the queen's death. Sky News have a live webcam for people who want to sit and watch people walk past the coffin all day.

I bought a pack of bacon for £1.60 and thought to myself, what happened to the pork crisis? Tens of thousands of pigs with no one to slaughter and transport them, there was talk of bacon and sausages doubling in price or even being off the shelves!
