+ there is no point with the back and forward - because it is like me and Derek - he has his opinions and his way of thinking something -- and I have my way

and we are both stubborn people -- I am not trying to prove a point - I am just trying to have a thread that shows people another way to do things

but no - we cannot do that - because if it does not agree with others peoples opinions -- by default I am wrong and everyone else is right.

My over riding thought process - was there was not a single thread answering anything about actually making money - it is all general non useful information -- already many people have given their opinions on this - that they think that is perfectly the way to go -- tools are there and go to work sort of thing --- my view was that there should be more guidance than that.

Then another thread popped up and the first thing the guy says - I am totally lost / did not want to post in fear of being trampled on -- can anyone just give me an idea to research.

Now this is not a one off - I already got a PM saying the same thing asking for help.

Anyway I think the simple answer to this whole thing is - I just not even bother making an effort -- because yeah - no-one enjoys being talked over at every corner.

OK

it is clear that you and I cannot communicate - because no matter what I say - your way is the right way and there is no other.

You fail to realize that there is a lot of things you do not know or understand.

Probably best we leave it there because - neither of us would be satisfied - me with your answer -- nor you with mine.
   He was asking you a question. That requires an answer from you, not him!

You don't seem to be able to communicate with anyone on this forum, but can't see the issue is with you.

Ok, I'll wade in

I'm trying to understand your strategy here. So, you have a selection method that picks x number of runners to dutch in a race (could be any number of runners). That method is ev+, but you are trying to reduce losing runs by doing y, therefore increasing profit.

So "y", is when you are hitting a loser your entries are paused until...what ? Are you using the outcomes of the missed races to predict when to start entering again ? Are you looking for a dip below your SR% and hoping it's going to return to mean ? Or do you have backtest data on the previous max consecutive losses ? Or something else ?

I'm still with the other guys on zero correlation between each race outcome, so cannot see how the above could work (if that's what you are doing), but curious what your methodology is.
Can you please answer this question?
Don't be so confrontational. Answering a question is a "back-and-forth", because the answer goes back to the questioner, which he doesn't like. ;)

Everybody has their own ways and opinions, it doesn't stop the rest of us from discussing our opinions. That's the entire purpose of a forum!

It's just a shame you're unable to communicate with anyone.

Not necessarily. Other people could be wrong and you could be right, but if you can't explain yourself and ignore questions you'll never know.

There is no "correct" way to trade. Everybody has their own methods, it doesn't mean only one person can be correct. You're problem is you're unable to explain and answer questions so nobody can take you seriously.

This forum isn't about teaching people to make money. We just help people get started and develop their own strategies. I've always had my questions answered about BA, and I've even had a suggestion implemented. I don't see anyone else complaining.

Derek,

I was going to type an answer to his questions - but what is the point - he does not understand anyway - he thinks he has perfect knowledge - but he does not.

he thinks about his knowledge of blackjack and the rules of blackjack -- yes those apply to most players but not all.

So if you say to me - can anyone beat blackjack - the answer is yes they can.

Do I personally know anyone who beat the game of blackjack -- yes I do.

That is not he wants to hear -- and then I am going to get told another rant about statistics and rules.

Great those apply to the regular blackjack players - but not the players I am talking about.... I am not talking about someone like Phil Ivey or any players like that - I am talking about the ultra rich - beyond a joke wealth - that few people attain .. rules that they adhere too are different than what I can get.

This is really the reason I am out of here --- people trying to impress on me their experiences --- well my experiences are different -- you cannot simply affirm yours and discount mine - when my knowledge of how things work is different.

You've got a really serious communication problem NotBothered.

Firstly, I don't know who the fuck you're talking about. Several people have asked you questions but you don't name or quote them so nobody can work out what you're talking about.

Secondly, if you're sure nobody is going to understand you what's the point in posting to a forum?

Thirdly, nobody has said what they think, they're just asking questions without criticism, which you're obviously struggling to understand.

That is the most abusive post in this thread. Are you suggesting he can't even press a quote button?

My advice NotBothered, don't get into a back and forth with Kai. He will go on all night relentlessly. :D

i have further issues with that video. it talks about locating a post about camping club and quoting it. i've looked everywhere on here and can't find that thread. i think this means it's impossible to quote threads.

derek it is simple

can you win at dutching on betfair = yes

are there players who beat blackjack = yes

can the average player beat blackjack = no

he wants to argue this same point over and over and over - about statistics being that there is no-one who can truly win at blackjack - well he has no idea to be fair.

then I say for form integration - you would use your DB and PF + obviously your filters and selection -- then he wants to say -- blah blah blah - 2 sources etc etc -- he simply has no clue

Every persons thought process is driven by their experience -- why should I engage with him - when he has no clue about certain things - and there is no way to prove it -- because he has not participated in certain things.

It is like when you said to me where did you work Bank of England ? No CB jobs yeah they are important but they are not traders -- CBs would call me to ask about the market and market conditions - and what my thought process was about the market -- then they would call back and have me execute their transactions.... pretty much every famous investor you have ever heard of - I have dealt for at one point or another.

So you say to me - lets talk about trading .. honestly I would rather not - because our experience levels are so far apart.

That is what you do not seem to grasp ... it would be like you telling me about gardening as an example- you would be wasting your time even starting because I have zero knowledge to communicate with you about it.

+ that is the thing - I am not trying to convert you or anyone to anything

but the moment I say anything -- I am assumed to be wrong and know nothing about anything.

Well I have been and done a tonne of things that many have not -- but like I said ages ago -- people have to realize - that no matter who you are - there is always someone who bets more - has more money + knows more than you do .. I understand this but it seems everyone here seems to think they are the subject expert.

It's because you rub and did rub people up the wrong way.

I remember one of your very first posts on the forum where you basically said every forum member was useless and not worth listening to.

That's not going to endear you to many, especially a forum where many of us have been very successful over very long periods of time.

Humility is a great asset when risk taking and so people are quick to spot when it's not there.

If you agreed to disagree and debated then I'm sure you would get more acceptance.

Euler,

every post you have made has been thoughtful and non aggressive in any way

you make your point and yes for sure I listen.

But many others are not like that - they simply try to impress their opinion onto everyone else - and if I try to say anything they just talk over me.

That is no real way to communicate --- and if there is one thing that irritates the crap out of me is when someone tries to tell me something that I know 100% is not true.

It is so dumb this whole blackjack garbage - of course we all know the rules - but do you really think that those rules apply to everyone ?

Anyway it has been fun -- but it is late and time to move on.

in fairness, it was actually you yourself that introduced this topic:

Myself I went to Vegas and bet 25,000 a hand at blackjack on one box - and my opinion was that was a fair amount of money - my friend flies in and he bets 50,000 on 6 boxes at a time - then a business relationship flies in on his private plane and bets 250,000 a box... if you cannot understand this type of thing I feel sorry for you.
anyway... la ronde, as they say (in gay Paris) !!
