I'm half-minded to start a petition asking whether Johnson should be honoured with the official title, Boris the Buffoon. If it gains 100,000 votes, parliament would have to debate it. :D
I am sure it wont be long until he is Lord Boris. That seems to be the way things work

I just saw a clip of Sunak the Sensible telling Truss in the leadership debate that her own advisors predicted mortgage rates will hit 7% and cause hardship to homeowners. That's pretty much spot on, and just demonstrates the short-sightedness of not only Truss, but also the Tory members who just can't see any further than lower taxes.

What the hell is the difference between a vote and motion of no confidence ?
A vote, I believe, is part of the Tory party constitution for Tory MPs to vote on and subject to their own rules.

A motion can be put forward by any MP and voted on by the house. However, I'm not entirely sure what weight it has if it suceeds.
Thanks Derek.

Surely not if he's found guilty of misleading parliament, a.k.a. lying through your flipping teeth. He should be stripped of his £115K p.a.

I think if the motion succeeds there has to be a GE, but it's unlikely with a Conservative majority, who would effectively be voting themselves out of office, so it's probably nothing more than a statement.

Sunak tells his party to "unite or die". That's a poor start, taking quotes from Iain Duncan Smith. Remember "The quiet man is here to stay and he's turning up the volume"?

Sometimes putting 20p in the envelope and signing the card when it comes round is enough.

Sunak: I have been elected to fix mistakes.

There's nothing to fix Richi, Liz says she's already fixed them.

Truss: We need to be bold and confront challenges.

Thanks Liz, but I don't think anyone's going to take advice from someone who's fucked up the British economy in a matter of days!

Haven't you heard? The army's planning a coup to reinstate Truss. :)

Market settled. It's a bit odd that the start time is 25-Oct-22 13:48, and it closed 58 minutes later. I'm sure I was trading longer than that. ;)
