That's right.

They shouldn't have to actually work to obtain goods; everyone deserves instant gratification. The world owes them a living, after all...

Not sure what the police tactics are at the moment. It appears to be the scary and threatening, "Go ahead and smash the place up while we watch" tactic.

i was listening to radio 5 this afternoon. they interviewed one of these retards that had er go last night. that was his attitude. 24 yrs old never worked, quit school at 14 or so, hangs around street corners must days. as done nothing to improve his lot, just exists on the state.

i dont know/understand what these people think the state can reasonably do for them, if they are not prepared to at least try and help themselfs.

To be fair to the police what ever they do will be wrong.

Quite.

If I were a policeman, I'd be thinking "I'd better make sure I don't overstep the mark, as I could lose my pension if I overstep the mark when disarming a thug who's trying to poke a knife in me!".

David Cameron should declare a state of emergency, and tell the police to use any means necessary to quell the riot, including, if necessary, shooting to kill any rioter who doesn't surrender when ordered to do so.

But I can understand him not wanting to take a break from his holiday to deal with something as trivial as a riot...

I think they let them get away with far too much in Tottenham (or Naam as they used to call it locally!) on Saturday.

The softly softly approach has meant that others think they can get away with much more than they previously thought. They are mainly kids, it's probably great fun if you're a bored teenager - and the chance to get a new telly for free.

I think this could be a long evening. The media is doing the best to beef up the crisis and social networking appears to be propagating it.

Quite.

If you ignore the monster, it doesn't go away...

There was a quote from the Sky news wanchor in the early hours when the Tottenham riot was in full swing. He said it seems young people are turning up getting into the "spirit of the disturbances"...... excuse me? what? it's incredulous.

I thought that the job of the news jouranlists was to report fact not to sensationalise and get carried away with what they are describing.

The riots would be over by now if Mrs Thatcher were still prime minister.

We have a PR man as our PM, not a passionate leader with a 'no-one ****s with my country' attitude!

this is a fecking joke. bunches of thick retarded arseholes, running riot all over london. police are a disgrace. they should get the police off the streets and out the way, and get the army in.

why is this being allowed to escalate to this level?
