Mine's not a rant more of a puzzled. I got a Betfair bonus today, first for a couple of years. It's just under 1/100th of 1% of my daily turnover. Gee thanks. 7.2 seconds worth of bets

Indeed. It's annoying like the periodic attempts to get you to adopt Bing as your default search engine and Edge as your default browser.
I also have Avast free and get pestered on a daily basis to go Premiium via alarmist notifications about security. But I guess thats the "price" for being a cheapskate. :-)
AVG free is pretty good at just getting on with it. Maybe one nag a month about upgrading.

I think Windows prompts about Bing if you've accidentally clicked on the description on the background startup picture. It tries to launch something that tells you about it.
I swapped from AVG to Avast, but can't remember why. And the Bing thing could well be the case since I'm usually only half awake on startup. :-)

AVG was good, I used it with Windows 98. Now I just want to switch off Microsoft Defender and stop the notifications.

Antivirus is really for people who aren't computer literate. My system is full of scripts that tamper with system settings that Microsoft thinks are viruses. What's worse, they don't even warn you, they just delete it!

You now have to pay twice for two songs that were once on opposite sides of a 7-inch single!

Can anyone see a flipping bicycle in this image?

I can only see the front wheel of a bicycle and It's not even clear whether the square with the handlebars counts!

I've just switched from a local account to signing in with my Microsoft account.

How can Microsoft be so flipping stupid as to display your full name on the sign-in screen and start menu?

I've now officially changed my surname to 27.

I ranted before about the lack of small trolleys at ASDA. Today I asked why they're so hard to find.

People are nicking the small trolleys!! Bastards!
ASDA have ordered 40 new small trolleys. How long are they gonna last? They need 200!

I've just had a stone cold breakfast at a Wetherspoon's pub. It was probably cooked an hour ago. And the beans, they barely amounted to a tablespoon full!

One of my neighbours high-fived me, knuckle to knuckle, as he walked past on his way to work. As he walked down the street, I noticed he stuck his hand down the back of his pants to scratch his arse!

FFS, just as well I didn't shake hands with him!

How did you see him do that if you were presumably walking in opposite directions? Do you have rear view wing mirrors attached to your shoulders? :D

you surely must know that Derek is on an 80's bounce. So, he was wearing the sparkly legwarmers and hotpants and was doing the zigzag roller skating with spins!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LIkosQgDsGg&t=23s makes sense now ;)
