I know it goes with the territory but twice today and twice yesterday I have had profitable traded races turned into nasty losses by somebody lumping on with about 1 min to the off.
This was a real killer

Laid at 6.8 and drifted nicely out to 7.6.... I am starting to exit out for a nice green when.....BOOOOM
10k comes on at 7.0 and while I am pondering this the money moves again and shortens the price into 6.0 where the cash stays until well after the off.
Anyone else see this ......
Oh and the horse finished outside the top 3
Getting hit by BIG bets near the off
Probably irrelevant where the horse finished if they were offsetting liability.Oh and the horse finished outside the top 3
You were on the wrong side this time, you might be on the right side next time... (I'm ALWAYS on the wrong side) you just have to take the hit and move on as there's nothing you can do about it.
It always interests me who makes these huge spikes and why?
Is it bookies laying off?
Is it somebody whose offsetting fires in a large bet?
Or is it a speculative trader trying to send the market in a certain direction?
It happens in football too, a classic example was the last round of world cup matches
Peru v Bolivia - Peru had been steadily backed all day, reaching a low of 1.77. This went back to 1.80 with 15mins until kick off. Then from nowhere, Peru were layed at 1.84 for £50,000!
By kick-off they were trading at 2.08
I'd love to know when these spikes are going to hit, but like I say, I'd love to know where they originate from

I've always wondered if there a people out there with big enough bankrolls to manipulate the market in such a way intentionally.
