Given Southgate's fullsome defence of his player it evidently isn't the end of Maguire's England career. His mother has also entered the debate to defend him. It's becoming a soap opera. But solution is simple. Go on the pitch and be perfect. And Ten Hag seems only willing to use him when there is no other alternative.firlandsfarm wrote: ↑Thu Sep 14, 2023 12:52 pmWhy was Maguire getting "Olay" shouts whenever he received the ball?greenmark wrote: ↑Tue Sep 12, 2023 9:49 pmThat's the end for Maguire IMO. He could have put that ball almost anywhere else. Launch it for a corner , twist to clear for a thrown-in or corner.
But instead a deadly hit that took Ramsdale out of the game. The guy is wonky, something not right abiout him.

New owners for Everton however the 777 American Investment fund have managed to relegate Hertha Berlin to Bundesliga 2, fans are in open revolt against them at Standard Liege and Sevilla sit bottom of La Liga (early days), finished 11th last season, won the Europa League in 777's first year of ownership finishing 3rd, 4th & 4th the previous seasons. Maybe not the savior they think but time will tell.
It'll be interesting to see what happens at Sevilla this season as when 777 took over they were an established top 6 side in Spain.
The Premier League need to start taking responsibility for letting all these foreign owners ruin English football clubs. I'd like to see the German ownership model introduced by legislation along with less foreign players. English football clubs belong to the fans and the communities they play in.

I agree. With all of that, but let's not forget what an awful mess top flight UK football looked like.Michael5482 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 15, 2023 10:13 amhttps://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/66804033

Dreadful stadiums, hooliganism, Terrible tragedies. Ibrox, Hillsbrough, Bradford. All because fans weren't respected.
Modern stadiums are pretty much due to foriegn investment.
But much as I would like EFC to rise like a phoenix from the chaos of the last decade, 777's reputation does't inspire confidence. But surely they must be better than Moshiri?
In any case if the deal can't be completed before the end of the year EFC are still right in the poo unless Dyche can turn alchemist.

All seater stadiums in the top flight were compulsory well before foreign money. Most modern stadiums post this built by foreign money have been built as nothing more than cash cows and absolutely nothing to do with previous tragedies.greenmark wrote: ↑Fri Sep 15, 2023 4:44 pmI agree. As for Everton it's one car crash after another no doubt they'll pass a fit n proper test whatever the hell that is.
Betfair had it at 0 but SoccerStats had 1. I'm sure I've seen sub 30-second goals but never seen a 0 second goal as an official result.

Liverpool are either still on international duty or forgot what a football is.

Klopp earned his corn at half time, if Wolves were a bit more ruthless it could have been a very different story.Michael5482 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 16, 2023 12:42 pmLiverpool are either still on international duty or forgot what a football is.
