Islam does not represent a clash of culture.
I've worked with Muslims and they are superb.
Have you ever been down the pub for a pint with any of the muslims you have worked with ?
Have you ever invited any muslims round your house for a nice fillet steak ?
That's what a clash of cultures is
Yes. They drank soft drinks and when I asked whether me drinking alcohol was offensive they said of course not.
And no. Never did invite, but was invited and it was outstanding.
That is what multiculturism is.
So the answer is you haven't invited a muslim round your house for a nice fillet steak.
I'm afraid that's not multiculturism

How on earth did you come to that conclusion?
I was intimidated by their culinary excellence. That was the ony reason.

Your definition of multiculturalism is deranged. On your thinking, meat eaters and vegetarians are a cultural clash.

I was intimidated by my brother-in-law's culinary expertise. He wasn't a muslim.

Have you ever met a Muslim? I've been down the pub with a Muslim and didn't even know until he mentioned it an hour in.
What did you talk about ?
Did you tell him any English, Irish and Scotsman jokes ?

Long time ago but I think Squash featured thats how we met. But also his business in clothing retail. We both were petrolheads so he was cars and I was bikes.
This was before I got interested in cuisine. So all I remember was the biryani. I've tried to replaicate it since without success.
BTW I messed up. it's multiculturalism.
But the end of that tale is he left the club because he was racially abused. I tried to say "well just play me". But he was gone, deflated, angry. That's what racism does to humans.

I wonder what happens if the hardcore element starts bringing weapons to the party….

Plenty available in the UK including semi-auto mini crossbows.

I was volunteering for Beaver scouts and it was a Christmas drink after the last session. We talked about all sorts of things, the year gone by, the children, what we're doing over Christmas, I think football and current affairs were probably in there as well.

If you were in my place, I'm sure you would have got along fine until he mentioned he was a Muslim. Then you'd invite him around for a fillet steak, start cracking Englishmen, Scotishmen and Irishmen jokes (which probably wouldn't even have offended him), and then see a cultural clash.

If you look really hard for something, you'll see it whether it's there or not. It's called conformation bias! :)

From my experience,
You can generally break Muslims down in to 2 groups.
The ones that go to prey, especially on Friday. Normally, Pakistani, Afghan. types
They won’t go anywhere near the stuff considered haram .
Anything related to, Betting, pork , alcohol(Pubs), Dress codes, etc.

The others, Normally from western leaning places, Turkey , Cyprus. Some love a gamble, will cook me my bacon for breakfast and have a drink at the end of the day.

It’s the first group that wants power, these lean more towards an Islamic state. Not as willing to in brace, British culture(Christmas), Standards (anti LGBT ) Law (they would like sharia law).

My view from a very multi-cultural East London.

I've never met anyone from the first group but I guess the problem is, many people stereotype Muslims as all in the first group, avoid such people, thus, creating the problem that they think is already there.

Think it's about time I get back to trading. :)

I don't think we have any asylum hotels here in London, they're all living in blocks of flats
rustled up by Sadiq Khan ( future Labour Leader ) and paid for by all of us via council taxes.
