Starmer's making a right pig's ear of this. The army should have already been deployed across the country, ready to assemble where necessary.
You mean the army of police officers or real Armed Forces ?
The real armed forces. No disrespect to the police, but they are outnumbered, overstretched, don't have the tools or resources (don't know why they don't even have a supply of tasers), and clearly aren't able to maintain order.
To police a civilised society, you need one police officer to every thousand civilians. To police a restless society that's out of control, you need one in fifty!
ok, i did post a long thread, stating the reasons why it wont happen unless its a supporting role to protect buildings while the police arrest everyone. The police cant protect buildings and at the same time try and arrest people.
If you mean the Armed Forces taking control and getting into punch-ups or using live rounds then that will never happen.
The last time the Army went up against people rioting was 1908. 600 soldiers on horse back, with long swords cut down 200 people. It wasn't a good look back then and it wouldn't be now for the UK in this century.
Only takes 1 soldier to panic and open fire and the country would be in serious anger etc.
