League favourites, Leeds, somehow managed to avoid a loss on day one!

  Just as well we didn't get promoted after all....(maybe)

Creating my own Xg, I had the final score 5-1 Leeds (got the amount of goals correct).

When you adjust it with the actual FT score, then 4-2 seems reasonable....

Is it just me. I detect a weariness in Pep.

Not so full on?

His energy has been part of his MO. I can't remember seeing him so flat.

Shame Pep burnt his bridges at Barca, they need all the help they can get these days with Real set for another dominant period

Don't see many top club options at all for him, maybe in Italy

When he's on it ANYONE would have him. But you may have a better appreciation of footy politics.
And perhaps in an environment where he isn't god, it may not be so "easy".
But I'd play for him. He has a view and is relentless. And he doesn't seem to be anything other than obsessed with footy.
Not a Mourinho or Conte. Both of whom imo are totally egotistical.

Rashford has just reduced his worth significtantly.
I eman I love Rash. While other Utd players were as flimsy as a wet paper bag he was there. Now several years down the line people have forgrotten what he did and are after him.
But he should have scored or made the keeper save. But it was a foot from brilliant.

Quickly gave up on the Wigan match. No liquidity on the OU markets.

I dunno Mark, I'm still not convinced on him. Barca team, he walked into one of the best squads in the world, brought a few players up from the underage sides and dominated. Bayern much the same, City much the same. All 3 clubs had plenty of spending power while he was there so they could buy any missing links. He even started with the Barca B team so it's not like he's worked his way up from the dregs - in motor terms his starter car was a 5 series BMW!

I'd give much more credit if he'd been through the lower leagues anywhere with a mediocre team and a limited budget and worked his way up.
If he's ever to leave City I'd make a guess he'd go for Inter Miami with the other former Barca players, possibly on condition he gets 1st option at buying a franchise next time MLS extends. Then they'd be first preference for Spanish speaking players close to retirement and then dominating again :D

I don't know either. But over the years I've noticed a trend. Successful managers are compelling when being interviewed, in their own way.
Mourinhio and Pep and Klopp yeah OK. Ancelotti intrigues me. So quiet, undemonstrative. The biggest giveaway? The eyebrow lift.
I wonder (and this is terribly racist) whether he has friends that will make you an offer you can't refuse. Like what's that horse's head doing in my bed? etc
I really don't know but some guys/girls have it. And it seems to translate onto the pitch. Fergie, Dalgish. They all had it.
