Don't forget, Turkey has the 2nd largest military force within NATO and it also has relations with Lebanon, Gaza and Iran.

Source: FDD - 07/10/2024

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan claimed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin’s Netanyahu government harbored ambitions that include the capture of Anatolia as part of “Greater Israel,” warning of a war between the two states. While predictions of Israeli aggression toward Turkey are not rooted in reality, they could indicate Ankara’s willingness to escalate its involvement in regional violence against Israel.

Addressing the opening ceremony of Turkey’s new parliamentary session, Erdogan remarked, “The Israeli leadership acting with the delirium of the promised land and with a purely religious fanaticism, will set its sights on our homeland after Palestine and Lebanon.”
I doubt Turkey want to get involved.
But if they did they could find they're out of NATO. ATM that's not a good place given the alternative rabble they might join with.

Iran supplies 25% of global oil, if Israel bombs their oil refineries then you can expect your petrol prices and heating to go through the roof.

The world might have no choice but to start buying Russian oil again.

How mad would that be!!!!
The other suppliers would step in. They know oil is going to become redundant and being friendly with the West and it's tech is sensible. Iran's regime are stuck in the middle ages. If you're a Sheikdom why would you deal with Iran?
Iran is threatening to attack the other suppliers in the middle-east if Israel attacks Iranian oil facilities

Why Israel still hasn’t retaliated with a strike against Iran

The Israelis are probably unable to pull off the kind of strike that would be necessary to eliminate the Iranians’ offensive missile capabilities. By most accounts, they simply do not have the capability without the American Air Force and without America in general.

The Israelis can decapitate the leadership of Hezbollah in Lebanon and degrade its missile capabilities. But Iran is far away

'Tension in Israel is at fever pitch while waiting for Benjamin Netanyahu's next move'

But the crucial element of this bloody and disastrous chess game for civilians will be Iran’s response.

I don't. But I think there is . Trying to summarise a complex situation with a word is a very, very, nuanced skill. Your "Stalemate" may be clever but explain it in your own thinking.

Surprised but pleased this topic is allowed here.

I'm a bit concerned about it all. Not commenting on the validity of the war so to speak but I'm worried about Israel's "Samson Option". If things go pear shaped for them that could get messy to say the least.

As for Iran, apparently they have Russian AA. Iran seem to be putting a lot of trust in Russia.

I'm hoping at worst Israel will strike some missile base or something In Iran and leave it there. In a sense that would make sense. Some punitive retaliation without much escalation.
IF they strike anything nuclear that could really piss of Pakistan next door.

Most people probably are, those that have time to check up on news!

I was feeling anxious for a few days when Ukraine was invaded, as it felt familiar, but luckily hedonic treadmill is a thing. It allows you to gradually adapt to the circumstances and normalize your emotional response. I still keep tabs but for different reasons as I'm a history buff.

It can make for interesting discussion though, but I personally don't see the value in being glued to news screens over things you have zero control over.

Like I've said before, my mantra has always been if the news is important enough, the shockwave blast will reach me anyway 👍
