Someone like him would have been my choice, the opposite of a yes-man.
Tactically great on the pitch, but off it from memory clashed with everyone at every club.

It's nett contribution. TAA is a positive that can do stuff few can. But surely you must accept he is a terrible right back. I am annoyed with him because he is so talented he must surely see he needs to get smarter about his defending. I shall let you have the last word.Kai wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2024 2:44 pmWell we're clearly not watching the same games then, not much else to say. I try to see every player touch and challenge, ladders permitting. And I'm used to walking that fine bias line, I'd be one of the first to rip into him if those were indeed facts. He's not a Wan-Bissaka that you can't get past but it's been overblown to stupid levels, resulting in a confidence loss at one point, and ultimately hurting England's chances.greenmark wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2024 2:11 pmKai I care about TAA even though he's a millionaire and doesnt give a hoot.
He's naked as a right back. His remit to roam forward is fine in an attacking sense, he's pretty lethal if he has wlling runners to aim at. But if possession is turned over he is useless. He's even useless in defensive set pieces.
How many key boring England games have you watched recently that were just crying out for a moment of magic.
It's my fav rapper
Wow! Tuchel! Prior to the rumours from the last few days I didn't see that coming.
I would be staggered if Pep takes on England. Kane will be winding down and there is noone to replace him. Also crafting a Pep team in the sporadic format of international football makes no sense to me. And in fact it strikes me Tuchel is the same. Intense, obsessive, flat out day to day projecting his thoughts onto the players. That takes a special person to impose himself during the fleeting international breaks.Archery1969 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 16, 2024 7:14 pmTurns out the New England Manager has only been given and/or agreed to an 18 month contract from January 2025.
That really doesn’t spell confidence in any direction. Most club managers get 3 year contracts and cut short if need be.
Sounds like the FA are hedging their bets and waiting for someone else….
O wait, isn’t Peps contract up in 18 months, just saying ?
Pep could, if he tells the FA, clubs give priority to the national team when needed.
