I particularly check this one to see what Derek's been upto.
Mutley chuckle.

Agreed. Shocked at the lack of quantity and quality of Christmas cards especially this year. I guess sending cards is slowly going out of fashion.
Every time I go to buy a card for my Mam (birthdays, Xmas etc) they all say "Mum" no one I know calls their Mam "Mum" she'd give me a bat round the lug if I bought a card with Mum onjamesedwards wrote: ↑Wed Nov 20, 2024 5:07 pmAgreed. John Lewis had an decent range, but pricey.
I thought there were now online services where you can design your own card. Dunno for sure, 'cos I stopped sending them a while ago.Michael5482 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 20, 2024 5:13 pmEvery time I go to buy a card for my Mam (birthdays, Xmas etc) they all say "Mum" no one I know calls their Mam "Mum" she'd give me a bat round the lug if I bought a card with Mum onjamesedwards wrote: ↑Wed Nov 20, 2024 5:07 pmAgreed. There are. The last card I sent my mother was a picture of me and my cat. You can write your own text and choose a layout as well.greenmark wrote: ↑Wed Nov 20, 2024 8:54 pmI thought there were now online services where you can design your own card. Pointless transfer of paper in the digital age. But I'm quite "bah humbug" when it comes to Xmas and its commercial excess. Important time of year for many though. Heigh-ho.
+1 Derek. Ignore my "bah humbug". What could be better than a considered card from a loved one.Derek27 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 20, 2024 10:41 pmThere are. I always said Mum, in NZL it is Mum if I said Mam then I would use that if I was saying to a lady I would hold the door for her, it would be I will get that for you Mam. But I do remember Mrs Browns Boys always saying Mammy. Must be a Location thing, however you would think they would tailor it to the location.Michael5482 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 20, 2024 5:13 pmEvery time I go to buy a card for my Mam (birthdays, Xmas etc) they all say "Mum" no one I know calls their Mam "Mum" she'd give me a bat round the lug if I bought a card with Mum onjamesedwards wrote: ↑Wed Nov 20, 2024 5:07 pmAgreed.
