It was always going to be that way. People don't remember who got us in this mess, they just blame the incumbent.

I didn't expect them to transform anything in their first year nor did I expect them to increase unemployment, increase inflation, be at war with the farmers, increase the jobs tax, set out to destroy family firms and drown the entrepreneurial spirit of small businesses all in 5 months. I thought they would need the full 5 years to screw it up to that extent!
aye - just goes to show. on the bright side, the price of penile implants seems to be unaffected!!firlandsfarm wrote: ↑Wed Nov 20, 2024 12:12 pmI didn't expect them to transform anything in their first year nor did I expect them to increase unemployment, increase inflation, be at war with the farmers, increase the jobs tax, set out to destroy family firms and drown the entrepreneurial spirit of small businesses all in 5 months. That's a fair summary. But only of 5 months. I will be with you if the FTSE and GDP are still flatlining (as they have for the lst 14 years) at the end of this parliament.firlandsfarm wrote: ↑Wed Nov 20, 2024 12:12 pmI didn't expect them to transform anything in their first year nor did I expect them to increase unemployment, increase inflation, be at war with the farmers, increase the jobs tax, set out to destroy family firms and drown the entrepreneurial spirit of small businesses all in 5 months. As I've said Labour will not win the next GE. Too much pain to be absorbed. They will get the blame for the last 14 years. No doubt about it.

Thought Labour were committed to increasing defence spending to 2.5%
One minute were letting Ukraine launch missiles into Russia then 10 mins later announce were making cuts to our forces, what a set of incomptent f@cking clowns.

I admire your patience potentially willing to wait 5 years to get paid out, there's hell on my end if Betfair haven't settled 10 mins after full time on a Saturday afternoon

I been on those amphibious assault vessels with the RM’s more than once, great pieces of kit. Light, fast but yet have high stopping power for incoming rounds. I might sound like a broken record with Labour criticism but I not the only one scratching my head on that policy.Michael5482 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 20, 2024 4:06 pmThought Labour were committed to increasing defence spending to 2.5%One minute were letting Ukraine launch missiles into Russia then 10 mins later announce were making cuts to our forces, what a set of incomptent f@cking clowns.

But if they going to get rid of them then give all the equipment to Ukraine to use. Yes they will lose some money rather than auction it all but they doing to save running costs over 5 years. They will still save that and in the meantime further help Ukraine.
I’m still scratching my head on the amphibious ships.
It’s like buying a new car, after 1 year you don’t like the colour, so buy another one. Fine if you can afford too but they supposed to be trying to save money. What a waste in procurement terms.
They might need them if Argentina chances its arm again.
Also, why not wait for the official defence review. I bet that report comes back and says they need more amphibious ships, not none!!!!
