Switzerland has enough fallout shelters to house every single resident. There are thousands of shelters in Swiss homes. In fact, by law, each person in the country is entitled to a place of shelter underground, calculated at one square meter per person.

Finland has the best modern nuclear shelters to house 85% of the population. Each one has an armoury, mini hospital, food and water to last 6 months plus decontamination centre and sub power generator. The BBC did a documentary about them.

IMO preparing for nuclear war will only hasten the likelihood. I believe (via other people's reading) that all powerful/rich people would survive a nuclear exchange. Let's hope they realise that they would emerge into chaos with no-one to feed off anymore.

Problem with Finland is it is in NATO and it has reported an increased volume of hybrid attacks (sabotage, cyber attacks, espionage) from Russia since its signing up to the collective defence treaty.

Whereas, Switzerland is a completely neutral European country, not in the EU and not a member of NATO

Anyway, I don't really get the prepper mindset but I remember my history. The two biggest close call incidents that come to mind are the false nuclear alarm during the 80s (?), and the nuclear submarine officer Vasily Arkhipov saving the day, but those days are long gone and different protocols are in place today.

And hope the snake isn't actually a hydra. I'd much rather Russians dealt with Putin but when you have the media in a vice-like grip and security services actively snuffing out dissent, it's dicey as Navalny's fate demonstrates.
