Socialism is not a remedy for the world's troubles.
The Nazi's where national socialists. The USSR ie Uinion of Soviet Socialist Republics where about as left wing as Genghis Khan.
Mussolini at least had the decency to be a loud and proud fascist. IMO Hitler, his henchmen, Stalin, Mussolini and all dictators are the same. They wrap themselves in some idealogy but they're all supremely self-centered. Democracy is our only defence.
Dictators no matter on the left or right also use democracy or legitimate legal means to get into power before unleashing there dictatorship democracy is no defence at all to think otherwise is pure fallacy.
I must disagree.
I accept Hitler came to power partly thru democracy, but it was more due to the fact the German population were desperate for some relief from the poverty imposed by WW1 reparations and an aristocratic hierachy that didn't see (or perhaps turned a blind eye) to Hitler's real intentions.
Democracy is the best system so far. It is being pushed to it's limits these days but the alternative is Trump, Netanyahu, Putin, Assad Hamas, Hezbollah Houti's and the Saudi regime et al.
Democracy across the world especially in Europe at the moment appears to be a great advert for populism especially to the right of politics (populism on the left isn't worth bothering about basically the BLM, LBQT, Animal Rising f@cktard type people) especially when politicians get democratically elected then don't do or deliver what they promise but they wear a suit instead of a military uniform so it's kind of accepted.
It's little wonder the right especially the far right are on the march across Europe, democratically elected politicians are failing people, I'll say (without any data and a pure guess) poverty being the biggest factor and people see no other option. How long has democracy failed to address child poverty in the UK for example?
I don't think it's difficult to sort out especially in the UK but politicians don't want to face it because it involves going against there personal and political beliefs which may result in loosing power but it's better than doing nothing which the current stance and has been for a long time. I'm right leaning but not far right obviously but it's easy to see why people are attracted to and moving to the right in their droves.
The lefts answer to immigration for example is to call everyone a racist, the lefts answer growth is buy now pay later it's the same old dance to the same old tune. I'd have more respect for the left if they at least put up a fight but they don't even acknowledge it let alone tackle it and that's dangerous, I don't want to see a far right resurgence like the 80s but the left have no answers to populism on the right, they are about to be consumed and spat out by it lets hope it's not the far right. I think the left has gone too far to the left and the right have gone too far to the right and the country is crying out for a sensible centre ground party. The Lib Dems could of filled it that but like I say they're useless one minute there centre, next slightly left leaning next slightly right leaning they are pointless.
If there was a serious centrist party with common sense policy worth any salt I'd probably vote for it but I could never vote for a left leaning party and more attracted by the right due to things like meritocracy and personal responsibility.
