Farage is a liar. He claimed the Uk has nett migration of 2.5 million in the 2 years prior to the last election. That is total nonsense. It's disgraceful that isn't challenged.
And here is the problem. I Googled "farage 2.5 million nett migration" and couldn't find anything confirming your claim. And without an actual quote what he did say then, considering the relaxed way his words are interpreted by the LLs, I can see no basis for your claim. But I did reference the House of Commons Library (I trust you will accept that as a respectable authority) and if you have a look here about half way down the page you will read "In 2021, immigration increased sharply and reached a level of around 1.2-1.3 million per year in 2022 and 2023". Now I don't know how you do your maths but 2022 and 2023 are the two years before the 2024 GE and 1.2 million per year x 2 years equals 2.4 million in my book so I'm wondering where the lie is, could it be in claiming he was referring to "nett" migration when it appears he probably wasn't? Even your beloved Guardian made the point re the difference between "migration" and "nett migration" but since when has a four lettered word prevented an LL lie being proclaimed the truth?

And of course you must despise all MPs regardless of party because they will all probably have lied and the current chief liars are Starmer and his thieves. But don't believe me ask any pensioner, farm worker/owner, WASPI woman etc. ... I could go on and on but to be brief why don't you Google "Keir Starmer's broken promises", the list is very impressive or damming depending on your point of view but perhaps Labourhub.org.uk is the most damming and it's article was before the election so add all the post election lies to them. And finally let's "smash the gangs" shall we. According to official figures the number of boat people crossing the channel 01/01/24 - 05/07/24 was 13.154 and from 06/07/24 - 31/12/24 the number was 23,242, nearly double the number. The 'gangs' must be quaking in their boots!

I'm sorry Greenmark but I cannot see the point of your link other than to add support to my post ... he said ""2 1/2 million people have come to this country in the last 2 years". The Government's own official statistics confirm that, I sure that's where he got the figures from. I explained how the figure comes about ... what is your point other than to agree with me?

Is it that you don't understand the difference the word "nett", as incorrectly used by you, makes to your statement when comparing with the lack of it's use in Farage's statement?

This is what's wrong with most of the criticism of Farage, it's wrongly quoted, it's twisted out of context and then it's wrongly used against him. Anyway, nice try.

Brexit is now proven to be nothing more than xenophobically suicidal financial idiocy.
Introduce friction in trade with your biggest market? Genius!!! Brexit was beyond cretinous.
Our GDP has flatlined since 2016. Not so bad? Our G7 peers are doing better. We are predicted to see a reduction in GDP of 4% over the next 10years.
So brexit ain't that good for me.
And all because the Remoaners hold most of the senior positions within our establishment and have constantly done their best to prevent Brexit. Our current PM is a Remoaner, what chance of getting a Brexit Brexit, he will negotiate a Remoaner's Brexit. He has already said he won't move us back within the EU's clutches so we know he will, he never does what he promises to do. He is the most hypocritical senior politician in my lifetime.

When will you lot learn.

Brexit was always going to fail.

Europe was never going to negotiate a good deal for the UK leaving. They had to protect themselves first and foremost. The UK is not the USA or China economically or militarily. The EU doesn’t need the UK, it was always the other way around. The UK is a relatively small island and no longer able to project its power worldwide. It’s still stuck in the past. Very few countries now listen to it.

Things, now don’t look too good for the UK going forward, I suspect it will drop out of the G7 on financial terms. Further real poverty will be coming.

Allot of stuff will now depend on what the Trump administration does. Directly or indirectly it could further plunge the average UK citizen into a dire no hope future.

Scotland can’t legally leave the Union without Westminster’s say so. And regardless of PM/Party there never going to allow it.
You have clearly never seen Braveheart !

There is another "legal" route but it would be long & torturous ( & also unlikely). It falls under "the right of a people to self-determination" and is part of a few treaties that the UK has signed up to.

We just need Farage to be Farage or get the likes of Johnson / Truss back. KamiKaze will also do & unexpectedly Stammer has been a goldmine).

Latest poll at 54% Yes...

As for the Crown Jewels:

The Crown Jewels and Crown Properties are held in trust by the king or queen for the nation. They are passed to the next monarch on their accession (when they become king or queen).
He / she can wear them anytime they come visit Scotland (if they haven't been sold).

Also, there will be no need to pay taxes if you are in the armed services...

Have a great NY !

No sensible person likes brexit.
You may have forgotten how narrow the Brexit referendum result was. Us "Remoaners" have been waiting patiently for the so-called advantages of brexit to materialise.
But they haven't have they?
If Labour can reduce the import/export friction with the EU it can only be a good thing.
And if you genuinely think Starmer is the most hypocritical politician in your lifetime you are clearly nuts. My references being BJ, Truss, Cameron, Wilson, Callaghan, Thatcher, Blair etc etc.

Voting to leave the EU was always likely to be a mistake, but we should have long since got over it by now - over 8 years since the vote.

Yet still Remoaners (specifically Remoaners rather than Remainers) rub their hands with glee at every trial and tribulation the UK suffers just so they can remount their "I told you so" high horse. Time for the country to get over it and work on a better future rather than blaming the past?

You can always tell when someone has no argument, they resort to insults rather than facts!

So Remoaners have been waiting what, 8 years ... Leavers had to wait 40 years so you have only another 32 years to go. I've already given you the main reason why Brexit is not as it should be and Starmer clearly lied his way to victory and advocated to overthrow a democratic result but that's the EU way ... if a referendum doesn't result in the result you want just hold another referendum until you get that answer. Very democratic.. As for the narrowness of the referendum result it was over 1 million votes wasn't it? And I'm happy to have good trade with the EU, trade yes but not political union. I agreed with the Common Market but the EU is different, one has "market" in it's name ... the other has "union"!

BTW I notice you don't even have the grace to confess that you were wrong in your comment re Farage but then maybe you feel you are above the House of Commons Library and the English language.

Forget about Braveheart. Times have moved on. And don’t get me wrong as I had very fond times visiting Scotland while shooting Deer. A great place and country. Everyone I met was very welcoming and personal thanks to Craig and Lyn in the Cairn Gomes who saved a soldier (me) after falling and breaking my leg in two places while shivering in -8 temperatures. And their dog Charlie who slept by my side and wouldn’t leave. He must have been seriously cold and I didn’t have the energy to cuddle him.

I wasn't wrong about farage's comments about immigration being a lie. He deliberately quoted immigration figures not nett migration. Bring economical with the truth is a lie in my book. We could accept 10million immigrants if 9.9 million leave.
But in any case if we choose who we let in what's the problem. Do you have no confidence in our immigration processes? Those administered by the Tories for 14 years.Your "jibe" about 32 years of waiting for leavers is ridiculous. The EU is the best thing that ever happened to the UK and Thatcher agreed.
Present a single stat that supports Brexit is a good idea. Where did that 350 million a week promised by Leavers for the NHS go?

A leading British economist has revealed the Remoaners/Rejoiners claim that Brexit has cost the UK £100bn is based on nothing but "assumptions". 😩

And Ukraine has choked off Putin’s £5bn-a-year pipeline – it risks dramatic consequences for the EU

The situation leaves Europe more reliant on expensive supplies of liquefied natural gas (LNG) that countries have been forced to buy in huge quantities from suppliers such as the US and Qatar.

Brexit's working fine for me :D

And your point is? Expensive? You get get stuff from reliable suppliers not dictators. Russia is beginning to suffer
Russia is teetering on the brink financially. This is disturbingly similar to pre-nazi germany. The difference is Europe is better armed than 1939. We can only hope Putin snuffs it or is deposed. But he's killed any reasonable opponent so who knows who would emerge as the new Russian leader.

Farage uses immigration stats as a dog whistle to racists. Similarly his response to the Southport stabbing, when he started peddling conspiracy theories.

He knows exactly what he is doing.

That said, at least he appears to be making a serious attempt to expel overt racists from his party & acknowledges it is an issue.

It does highlight one thing though if your assumptions are correct being many millions of hold a racist view in England and not much the establishment or Police can do about it.
