UK Government has just banned meat and diary imports from the EU.

I could understand Halal and Kosher meat imports being banned on the basis that they do not meet our animal welfare standards, but regular meat and dairy? any particular reason why?

is there a foot-and-mouth outbreak somewhere in the EU?

are the banned imports personal imports or commercial imports?

It is believed that hackers impersonated employees while contacting the retailers' IT help desks to gain access to the network in all three cases, M&S, Co-Op, Harrods.

Not much chance of 'hacking' BF as you can't contact anybody in the help desk easily ‍

I think it was employee IT helpdesks. eg resetting staff system log-in passwords etc.
