How do Betfair handle markets where goals are disallowed by VAR these days? Do they keep or void bets matched between unsuspension and resuspension?

Yeah, I just wondered whether Betfair were following these rules or not now?

They are prone to mistakes, which I guess also depends on their data providers and how much of it they automate etc

But I don't like complaining anymore, think you just have to manage your risk properly so that any random cockups ideally even out

Thanks for the info.

So predominantly they will get voided as per the rules? Does that apply to all markets on the match? Roughly how long does it take them to retrospectively void relevant bets?

They have to void it, but they also have to reopen markets and assume goals will stand

No idea if it applies to ALL markets, but it shouldn't, don't see why they'd need to do it on markets that aren't impacted by goals

I think they generally void relatively quickly but can sometimes take their sweet time and do it retrospectively, either way I prefer to avoid any potential hassle by always waiting for a goal confirmation before placing bets

That way your bets shouldn't get caught in a VAR void window

If they're taking ages to fix something you can always shoot a msg to CS that they'll forward to the relevant trading team.. and ofc it costs nothing to ask for a small compensation if you feel particularly screwed over, it's better than 0

It's a shame that they don't just suspend on a goal, penalty, sending off, or any VAR, and only unsuspend upon restart. Perhaps they figure they would lose too much volume during the down period, but it would improve clarity for all. Plus they must also lose volume from people who are no longer willing to risk automating in-play anymore.

Watching Arne's presser for the Chelski game and he looks a bit different 🧐

Had a look at the benches for Liverpool v Chelsea, €373.5m v €234.5m according to transfermarkt

Good result for Man Utd, although Sunderland were pretty bad. Whilst they've racked up a decent haul of early points, when you look at who they've beaten you've got to fear for their safety this season.

Although, you could argue the same for United.
