Wouldn't have seen it unless "profit protection mechanism" hadn't made me want to quote it. :)

It sounds as if you are doing quite well laying ,so it's best to concentrate on that.There are mentions here about a slight lag in TPD so personally its put me off a bit . Race reading is still very important and (despite lots of suggestions to the contrary) so is form analysis . I think the anticipation of pace and position are two of the most important factors in finding winners and losers .Even with all this technology we still need a perspective .
Automation (with me) is another moot point .I wouldn't automate my in-play activities , I prefer to be there in the thick of the action . But I am not knocking automation , and some people swear by it (especially when they lose :lol: ) but I just cant crack automation .
Kind Regards
Tico
PS Adrian Massey's site is still THE best FREE resource on the net for horse racing , I think he has been going for well over twenty years now . He doesn't do ratings anymore and the PHP site is a wee bit slow but it's still a goldmine of information for the dedicated users . :D :D :D

Thank you for mentioning the Adrian Massey site. I hadn't seen it before and have now spent an hour trawling through information and pondering ways to use it!

Hi Folks,
Quite a bit of talk about TPD's innacuracies . I hade heard that there were problems and I have been on thier website (probably the worst designed website on planet earth) but no mention of it there (mind you there wouldn't be would there!)
There is a way of getting TPD (well sort of) for nothing .The people who use TPD and drones etc are going to effect prices .So if you are watching the race (pictures are not live but lag behind) if you are quick enough you can see the prices move in or out .So when the favourite lookes like it is going to crack on the pictures in the last furlong but the price is going out on the BF wire then it's a reasonably fair assumption to conclude that that the TPD/Drone geezers are piling in (or out).
But this method does take practice and reasonable race reading skills.
The big advantage of using TPD direct is that you can monitor the positions of the horse in almost real time .The pictures (tv) can and do suffer from bad camera angles and even wet/foggy conditions reducing visability

Here's my take on TPD, as someone who has traded successfully with it for several years;

> ARC tracks: The TPD data for ARC tracks is pretty stable and very usable IMO. It is these races where I make my money using TPD automation.
> RMG tracks: These were added earlier this year but use different GPS technology and the coordinate data is not yet stable enough for me to use in the same way as ARC track races. TPD are working with the data provider to improve in the future. In the meantime, TPD mark the specific races where they advise caution. https://www.tpd.zone/status/ Other than the coordinate data, the other attributes like speed, velocity error, cadence error, stride freq etc seems to be fine, so the data is still very useful to support trading despite the ongoing issues with coordinate data.
