Hi all, does anybody know if there's an issue with connecting a bot from a low-code/no-code automation site, for example n8n, to the Betfair API? I have a few strategies I'm wanting to look at, although admittedly not on sports trading (otherwise I'd use Bet Angel!!). Is this something we're allowed to do? Do Betfair allow it, for example? Any challenges I might run into?

You can connect tools like n8n to the Betfair API if you apply for API access through Betfair and pay for the appropriate level. The free data access is very limited and not suitable for anything automated or frequent. Full API access requires a fee and approval under their developer terms.

Thanks for this, much appreciated. Would the free level access be good enough to conduct a PoC with? I’m guessing you probably don’t have enough info about what I’d like to do to be able to adequately answer this question? I’ll contact Betfair and enquire.

If you have a Bet Angel license you can use the Bet Angel API.

Hi @Euler, yep I've got Bet Angel Professional...I'll take a look through the API guide and get a little more familiar with it, but so far I've only ever used Bet Angel for trading and automation on sports markets, mainly Football and Horse Racing. I've never used it for automating bets on casino games...I'm not even sure that's possible? I've had a quick look in the Guardian today and searched Baccarat, for example, and no markets appear so I'm going to assume that it's not possible to automate selections on anything other than sports markets via Bet Angel, and therefore any automation that I want to build into Betfair will need to go into Betfair using the Betfair Developer Programme...

Is that a fair assumption? Or am I missing something here...let me know! :)
