It's always a good test of who has a maths background.
I got into a 'discussion' with somebody about trading. He was convinced it was all a load of BS and used the line, "but I've got a doctorate in maths, and I know what I'm talking about". But of course, he mispronounced it, so I knew he didn't have a doctorate.
I tend to name my alias after famous mathematicians. I'm in awe of what they achieved with just rudimentary tools and their mind. It's boggling when you read about it.

I too used to think it was pronounced Yooler, until one day when Peter used it during a conversation we were having (even then I didn't immediately click what he meant when he said 'Oiler'jamesedwards wrote: ↑Sat Feb 07, 2026 1:21 pmOh yeah. Me too, but you're right. Oiler it is!

Hi,
So is PW Eular or not ???
EULAR
Definition from Dictionary .com:
Swiss mathematician who made many contributions to numerous areas of pure and applied mathematics, physics, and astronomy. He was one of the first to develop the methods used in differential and integral calculus, and he introduced much of the basic mathematical notation still used today. .......
but it could be this:
The European Alliance of Associations for Rheumatology (EULAR) formerly the European League Against Rheumatism is a European non-governmental organization which represents the people with arthritis/rheumatism, health professional and scientific societies of rheumatology of all the European nations.......
Kind regards
Tico
