For longer term outright bets like promotion or relegation next year it's very useful, especially for the lower leagues. Who's in a position to spend and who's not? Odds for these markets can be swayed too much by current season form/sentiment and often ignore looming negatives.

If you do OK for a long time then it's definately not luck. The 'vast majority who don't' is an opportunity in its own right, why do they lose, and who are they losing too?
