Reform only need a 6.7% swing to capture the Makerfield seat from Labour.

In the local elections last week the eight Makerfield constituency wards put Reform at 50.4% compared to Labour's 22.7%. This represents an approximate 18-point local swing from Labour to Reform since the 2024 General Election.

Reform will win.

Reform drifting on the expectation that Restore Britain will be running.

I think the fact that Nigel Farrage has said that "Reform will throw absolutely everything at it." when talking about the Makerfield by-election shows that he is a little bit worried about Andy Burnham potentially becoming Labour leader.

No more 'worried' than win every seat/by-election that presents itself. And who would you have as your competitor? If you can chop your enemy off at his knees why let him live on ... (that's a metaphoric cutting at the knees and living on for the LLBs amongst us!)

I have interest in Reform from the perspective of protecting British values, cutting wasteful spend, and a more pragmatic approach to wokeism and political correctness.

But I have no interest in the more hostile xenophobic atmosphere likely to prevail at this sort of event.

Interesting how Starmer doesn't think banners stating "Hang all the jews" and a rousing chorus of "From the River to the Sea" is not expressing hatred and doesn't warrant facial recognition and the need to police with armoured vehicles but supporting your country is expressing hatred and does warrant such policing tactics. Having a Muslim mayor couldn't have anything to do with it could it!
