seen this on you tube , not bad for stats , https://www.tennisabstract.com/
The interesting thing about sites like this is that we have lots and lots of data, but we've been told that we're not able to publish it because it would be a breach of data licenses. So I'm not sure how these sites are able to do it and we are not, and maybe they're just taking a flyer on the legal side of things.
My understanding is that he has a team gathering the data so a license isn't necessary and the rest is freely available?

A welcome break from the norm I must say
lol - not sure i want to say good for him. But considering they are demanding his time and then telling how they think he should talk. It is kinda funny.

The problem is not the collection of the data; it's the distribution of it. Each sporting authority owns their rights to data, and you cannot distribute it without getting a license from them.

It's in a similar manner to this: -

Tennis Data Innovations own the rights to ATP data, for example, and you cannot redistribute or sell or do anything without getting a license from them or an appointed partner.

When we inquired, it was tens of thousands a year, but if you're associated with the betting industry, then it was £100,000 upwards.

I sense some grey areas though, e.g. if you look at his match charting project. Dunno how an authority could claim rights there.
