Just deleted by Mistake Automation file how to recover

Once deleted it's gone - unless you have a recovery program (to recover items deleted from your recycle bin) in which case you can try and see if you can retrieve it that way

man thats the worst, the confirmation box is there but yeah it doesn't quite look scary enough does it
shit i get mad if i lose an email, but i recall wiping a .baf before too and being big sad
as Dallas said try a 3rd party recovery app, the sooner the better

how it works on your machine is when you 'delete' a file all you do is just remove the ability to point to it, so it does stay on your machine until you overwrite those specific bytes on your harddrive, however, even basic pc tasks are using your harddrive and if you overwrite even 1% of your now-hidden automation file it will be corrupt/incorrect.

it can be your 1 and only lesson to have a backup saved (e.g. best practice just rename the file as something new e.g. v2 becomes v3 before you make your changes) If it's a serious bot, I would suggest in future to also log what changes you made in that version number somewhere handy, which will be useful if you ever need to revert to a previous one or troubleshoot that particular bot

ALWAYS ALWAYS back up your Servant Automation Rules on an external Drive, i have a File Folder of my personal loaded ones in them for my main machine and a Pen drive that sits in the Laptop Case for when am out and about and drop into these Co Work Spaces. Hope you retrieve and when you do Back em up
