Man U are a shadow of their sides of recent years (see European performances) but are top of the league, which is testimony to the weakness of the league atm.

they always seem to get a penalty when they really need a break. i'd love to see the stats of penalties awarded to opposition teams at Old Trafford compared to every other side at home.

So would I, but only because it would demolish the notion that referees have a pro Man U bias! In socialist Britain, officialdom wants to make life difficult for winners, not help them keep on winning!

BTW, Liverpool must play very fairly at Anfield, as you rarely see a penalty being awarded in front of the Kop...

I agree with that Frank

History shows that when clubs have had long standing managers, managers that have become club legends, they seem to have incredible difficulty in adjusting to life afterwards. The new manager has an impossible job. Brian Clough is a good example, but even Matt Busby's departure created a massive decline at Old Trafford - they were even relegated in 1974.
Anyone replacing Wenger might find it easier though, as he hasn't won a trophy for 7 years. That takes a bit of pressure off the new manager

It's called denial and lasts at least 3 years after the decline of a great team. The second step will be a decline of all the league clubs. That's what history tell us, but ofc the future has the same odds of being right or wrong.

There's every chance they will pick up just 1 point and that 18 will become 7 or 8

They also have a very negative manager who specialises in relegation

It's a year out of date but that shouldn't matter as we all know the pro United bias has been going on for decades

This pro-United bias talk always makes me laugh - United recently lost the title following blatantly incorrect refereeing decisions at Old Trafford v Chelsea.
