So what happened folks? I was not trading. I backed Aseela in the 3.20 at Yarmouth. I tried to green
up when the trade profit was £30 and ended up with a lay bet... I've just noticed that Force open Lay is showing (I thought it was set at None ) surely this should not have affected the attempt at greening? It is puzzling as Aseela won as I thought it might and certainly did not want to lay it. It seems that the amount I wanted to green as profit turned into a lay bet :?:

Did you accidentally click twice? This is easily done and something I must admit to have done myself

Log;

15.18.02 £10.17 lay bet on Aseela at 5.8
15.20.15 Keep bet at in play
15.22.05 cancel bet
15.24.35 Greened up Aseela by laying 42.43 at 3.95
(I was expecting to win 42.43 but lost 75.00!)
Don't think I pressed green twice, but there again..,

I may be stupid but to green up on this selection you would have needed a back and a lay bet. You appear to have just layed the winner.

But as i said I may be stupid.

I cannot see the back order for this horse? The log says you laid it for £10 at 5.8 and changed the status to keep. Then you cancelled it followed by a green order.

If you backed this horse for £10 at 6.0 then your profits would be £50.

If you offered to lay £42.43 at 3.95 then your liability would be 125.17.

£125 - £50 = £75 loss.

Does that seem about right? Obviously I am guessing about the back order based on the £10 cancelled order?

For example if you backed £10 at 5.90 and then laid £10.17 at 5.80 it would show a green of £0.17

To clarify (hopefully)

Aseela was showing £49.00 green, the rest £9.87 red.
If I hadn't pressed green, I would have won £49.00. By greening early I was hoping to take a profit in case Aseela did not win. I often do this but ain't had a result like this!

I think my fat fingers pressed greening twice - would this explain it?

That would explain it yes! I showed some approx figures earlier in the thread and they seemed to make sense.

Thanks for that Jolls.
The irony is that I had £76 in the bank - if it had been £2 less presumably the bet would not have fired!

Sadly you are correct, there would have been insufficient funds to place the bet :(
