Although Hughes is a decent jockey who makes fewer mistakes than most, I can't help thinking that he had a lot of help from the horses he rode 
Mathematically the chances of riding 7 winners, assuming they are all favourites with say, a 30% chance each is 5000-1. Assuming a jockey rides 300 days a year then the chances of getting a 7 timer is once every 16.6 years.
