Liquidity improved after couple of races. They are pretty easy to scalp now.

Some of the 03/04 figures are not that different from modern figures. There has been some growth but it's difficult to transplant the data directly as different field sizes and prices produce different volumes.

When I last looked in real depth it seemed the lower quality races were struggling a lot to show any growth but the really big gambling races were growing quite nicely. I've often posted my thoughts on the blog around the big races.

Thanks thats interesting. I'd always assumed they'd be far higher now due to traders and bots putting more money through the market and pushing up the matched levels. Were there many people trading back in those days? Perhaps I overestimate the level of volume produced by traders in these markets and underestimate the activity of bookmakers

Hi
Just off topic slightly...The responsiveness of betfair seemed fine today?
I expected it to grind to a halt when the Chelsea v Preston game kicked off...did anyone else find this??

I think they might have cracked it for now - not seen it be poor for some time. Perhaps that December upgrade did the trick???

Your setup is wrong - no races started early today. Check your computer clock is correct.
By 50 seconds it was wrong, shame on me... I'm just embarrassed...
