Being a Liverpool fan my opinion would only be biased, but I think the anniversary of Shanklys birthday had an effect. Liverpool (mainly first half) just wanted it more. Having played football myself, if you come up against a team who really wants it, even if they are less skilled its almost impossible to stop them.

I hope he'll feature next weekend against Villareal. I wanna see how a tandem with Ronaldo will go.

Di Canio gone, not a surprise really.

5 games is nothing when they've signed so many players

Half expected him to start fighting with the crowd at the end of the game on Saturday when he went over to them. I think the writing was immediately on the wall when he did that.

I think it was always a very high risk appointment, ultimately one that wasn't working. I thought they would stick with him till late October or mid November.

Supporting Man U is like trading - There are inevitably periods when you lose points, but what separates the men from the boys is having faith that things will eventually be turned around (which has happened year after year).

It took Fergie a whole nine years to win his first trophy, but the rest is history.

That said, I think Moyes was a terrible choice as manager. Had the Special One been given the job, it's quite possible that United would be top of the table...

How about a quick sweepstake for how many minutes they add on in the Utd game. I go for 5. Or is that only when Fergie was there?

Peter

It must feel surreal to see Southampton in the top four.

I hope you don't become too attached to the statistical anomaly though!

You might be nicknamed the Saints, but history tells us that God isn't going to give you a helping hand! :)

City also lost, so that's some consolation!
