Sunderland 1 - Man U 2

Never any doubt about the outcome! I'm so confident that I'm posting this before the final whistle!

We're now only 6 points off the number 1 slot, so things aren't too bad. We've won the title from far bigger deficits.

If we do win the Premiership this season, victory will be SO sweet!

Keeper saved you with that save in first half.

I know - he was great, wasn't he? :D

And if you look at the possession, it was 65% in United's favour, so it's not like we were massively lucky.

Never seen a Man Utd fan so pleased to hang on to a 2-1 result at the bottom team

As a Southampton fan, I'm sure you can appreciate the importance of being grateful for small mercies!

Listening to Saints on the radio this afternoon. Tony Pulis made a brilliant call on the disallowed goal. He predicted that if the goal was scored a free kick would be given and no goal.

Basically he thought the ref made a mistake for the corner and felt if Saints scored then he would have to 'even it up'

He was spot on

Tony Pulis on the radio?
Lets hope he stays there for the sake of English football.

I'm also quite pleased about our lead against the fourth highest placed team in the Premiership, Peter! ;)

I'm still struggling to adjust to looking at the top of the table.

Just been looking at the stats for the game.

Southampton had 54% of the possession and 50% more shots on target than United (despite the match being played at Old Trafford).

I would have thought that would have been very rare under Sir Alex.

If United can't dig deep when their chances of winning the Premiership are fast running away from them, when will they?
