OK, I know it's highly unlikely to happen, but considering that they were in the top 4 at the weekend, I wonder if that's a bit steep.

Nice little shout here, Jeff

Saints are trading at nearly half that price now - you could have nice touch there

Everyone is slagging Moyes off (not least me), but a comment by Alan Hansen got me thinking:

'I don't think they're necessarily playing any worse than they did in the first 10 games of last season and they were top of the table.'

If you look at the stats, we don't seem to be performing this season any worse than last season: http://www.squawka.com/teams/manchester ... 8#by-match

The above makes me wonder if the reason we're struggling is possibly because other teams no longer have the same fear of United, following Fergie's departure.

Especially for the likes of Mourinho, Jeff

Mourinho had huge respect for Fergie, in some regards even in awe of the man, but Moyes doesn't even come close in stature. I think you're right, Man Utd have lost a 'presence' with no SAF at the helm. It will be interesting to see how much support Moyes gets if United start to struggle for a top 4 spot

Now 1-2.

Fergie is in the stands - hopefully that is a sign of things to come...

In vintage United fashion, we snatch victory from the jaws of defeat, and narrowly keep our title ambitions alive!

The image that conjures is of a racing car about to overtake a bicycle... ;)

That bicycle now only has two teams ahead of it.

Yeah, but considering you can back the bicycle to win the Premiership at odds of 349/1 (compared to United's 11/1), I would say it's just a matter of time before our plucky cyclist discovers that his legs are no match for a Formula One engine...

As a southern based Liverpool fan, I travelled up to watch them play Southampton at Anfield a few weeks back which was an unfortunate game for me to pick, but I have to say I was really impressed by Southampton. If you didn't know who they were, you'd assume they were from the La Liga they press and move the ball so well.

Just a bit sad to see large chunks of empty seats behind the goal on MOTD. But that's almost certainly down to the cost of the tickets rather than the quality of the team.

It would be interesting to see where Southampton rank in the spending stakes. They've a great youth system, but I know they have spent a few pounds in recent years too.

I thought the analysis of Chamakh in the Palace game was hilarious. It was like a Benny Hill sketch.
