Yep.

Liverpool had the good sense to appoint a manager with proven form at turning around the fortunes of a struggling team. By contrast, Man U appointed a Steady Eddy mid-table manager. They wanted stability - they should be careful what they wish for, as they will be stuck in the middle of the table for some time...

Moyes needs time, but my only concern would be that he isn't really an "attacking" manager more a compact one and I can't help think that's important for Manchester United manager.

I dunno...

He's had six months, which have been diabolical. It's hard to see what he's going to do to turn things around. Even his transfer policy sucks. He blew £28 million on Fellaini, who hasn't exactly set the world alight, and whilst Mata was a good buy, we need additional reinforcements in defense and midfield.

It says something that even the captain, Vidic, wants to leave the squad.

I've half a mind to lay Man U against Fulham tomorrow. A year ago, the only question would be how comprehensively we would have beaten them, but I wouldn't be massively surprised if Fulham nick a victory at Old Trafford tomorrow...

Reading were 1.9 this morning for over 2.5 goals, that feels like good value.
No better example of why there is no such thing as "sure thing" when a Reading defender gets sent off in the first ten minutes.

I see you have lost none of your statesmanlike charm!

Funnily enough though, if it means that Moyes loses his job and is replaced by someone worthy of the job, then I will agree about it being nice...

I too would like to see him lose this job, as I think he is too good for Man Utd.

But of course - last year's Premiership winners are not nearly good enough for a mid-table manager!

And you also think Glen Hoddle was the greatest player the world has ever seen!

I think that, like Mr Hoddle, you have some beliefs which can only be classed as surreal!

It was clear to me that without Ferguson's corruptive influence over the referees, that Man Utd would not function as before.

Who do you think would be good as Man Utd manager?

As has been shown on this forum before, the old canard about Man U referee bias has been statistically disproven.

Come on, do you seriously think that United won the Premiership by 11 points last season due to Ferguson browbeating experienced, battle-hardened referees?

With respect, I don't sense that you are genuinely interested in my opinion.

Wrong, I am interested. You support Man Utd, so I would like to know who you think could manage such a big club as Man Utd.

And, with respect, it was proven by the BBC that the Ferguson family are corrupt.

Love to see all the Manure fans arguing about Taggart.

Lets face it - Manure are a mid table team - even with 3 world class players up front

No it wasn't, but what has that got to do with anything? We are talking about Ferguson allegedly intimidating referees, not bribing them!

Re: Who should manage United -

I think what we need is a manager who has a track record of getting teams to defy people's expectations. Look at what Martinez has done with Everton or Brendan Rogers has done with Liverpool. That's the kind of manager we need - someone with:

- Excellent tactical awareness
- Great man management skills
- Passion and self-belief
- The ability to get his players to play with focus and discipline, week in, week out.

Which managers tick all the above boxes is open to debate, but David Moyes clearly doesn't.

If that's the case, then us winning the Premiership last season was 999/1 fluke.

999/1 horses do occasionally fluke races, but I think on the balance of evidence you're wrong...

BTW, you should consider whether United fans might find your term offensive.

BTW, I'm glad I live in Scotland these days, as it means I don't have colleagues who ask me if I watched the football at the weekend every time United lose!
