Total volume is generally not a good indicator for price. In saying that, when the percentage increases or decreases It may indicate a trend.

Very true. I suppose it may provide a little guidance on the correct trading tactic to adopt. But the price graphs are still better for that purpose.

So what's the point of the volume graph? I don't really know yet... haha, sometimes I feel like it's good to just visualize things in the hope that one day I'll have a eureka moment...

I'm also hoping it may help identify subtle nuances or glaring differences in how the market behaves on different days.

Anyway, here's your daily dose of charts for today!

Yesterday the website seemed to be down when I tried to post... anyway, was a very, quiet day in the markets in terms of volume.

Today was quite a volatile day for a Monday... please see these visualisations of the markets at Kempton and Carlisle for your perusal:

Bit of a change of pace today as it's my anniversary... risked my good ladies wrath and managed to sneak out for a final bit of research on a new subject, a chart of the hounds on Sky.

First three races were on TV last ones not (note the big difference in volume.)

The bottom graph is 'Delta'. I'll leave that as an exercise to the reader to figure out what it is ;)

It appears to me that value is to be had when the trading money boys 'gangbang' a horse like that...

I think it was a Mugs article I read about a while ago that summed it up quite well... something about taking the weak kid behind the bikesheds and beating the living daylight out of him...
