HELP! - can't log in due to security sertificate problem
@mengoneur
well, you posted an installation quide for updating windows server. if support by microsoft is still given for that systems i exspect it will be no problem to deal with that. the point is that support for windows xp was stopped in april this year. so the similar path leads in xp just to "file or directory not found". But in fact it is possible to get those updates anywhere else in the internet. so i am allready downloading them and will bring my system up to service pack 3 with all updates until april 2014. will tell you later on if that will help.
why do you think that xp works without any updates? cause sandworm doesn't attack xp and cause of that there was no related installation guide? that has nothing to do with our case...

We raised the problem with betfair and have been told that they updated their SSL certificates on Wednesday 22nd Oct. Too much of a coincidence not to be the cause of the problem.
They suggest: Although we expect this to have no impact, we would advise all customers who are currently validating the current VeriSign SSL root certificate to install the new Hydrant root certificate via http://www.hydrantid.com/support/repository

I clicked on that link hoping for a link to a free download, but the only thing it lets me download is a couple of PDFs written in technical jargon!
Nice one Betfair! It's almost like they are trying to make things harder for traders.
I have Windows XP. I'm unable to upgrade to SP3 for some reason - it doesn't agree with my computer. Any suggestions?

This problem is still happening, why?
I am using XP still, as are millions of other people.
I tried logging into Betangel today, and the first message said:
The software has ended download new from betangel.com...
Strange as I still have 6 months left on my subs.
Anyway, I downloaded the new software, and only then did I receive the error message about:
"betangel could not establish trust relationship", etc.
And yes, my clock is fine. Log into Betfair is fine. I work in IT, so I know to check these things.
So as it stands, I have paid for Betangel and cannot log in
Edit: I have SP3 too, always have had.

Yes that version of Bet Angel had to be switched off as it works with betfair's old API that they switched off on 10th November, but as you've found the new version was available to download.StevenUK wrote: The software has ended download new from betangel.com...

Please could you download the diagnostics tool from http://www.betangel.com/download/?product=Diagnostics run through the tests and send us the results. You may find the Interactive login to betfair allows you in whereas the standard login does not, so try both methods for Test 4.
