I've been given a right spanking from them the last few races timing my entry a split second before they come - they seem to have upped the stakes as the day has gone on.
Rest of the day off for me before some serious damage is done.
The sooner they F@$k off the better imo!
Crazy spikes
I know exactly what you mean Andy, every time I've built up any profit today I get stung and lose it all. It's so annoying! (I'm used to slow steady profits throughout the day)
Like I said in another thread, The markets have been really thin today, any decent stake is throwing the market all over.
It seems like they are backing and laying, which makes it harder to play it safe.

The theory has been put forward in this thread that the spikes are due to lower than usual volume.
If this is the case, then you would expect Betdaq's horse racing markets to be permanently full of spikes. Is this the case?

My opinion is that it is the same person who has done lumpy bets in the past.
I do not buy any of the arguments that it is bookies, down to thin markets etc etc.
It has been a pleasure that they have taken today off.
I suspect that we have seen the end of these crazy spikes for a good while and at some point soon something new where someone throws large amounts at the markets will happen.
This pattern has been going on for well over a year now. It started with them throwing thousands and then reduced it to hundreds at all the outsiders, even horses at 1000.0
Very little was said about that at the time and you most certainly wouldn't read about it on blogs etc. I put a post up about it when I had my blog and I promptly took it down moments later as I realised how stupid I was drawing attention to something that was making myself and several others a lot of money.
This pattern of big amounts being thrown at the market will continue I think but just in a different form, however, saying that they could be back tomorrow with the dutching technique but I suspect they will change form it soon enough to some new approach.

It was at the beginning of the day and I wasn't expecting the spikes so much since they have chilled out over the last few days. I've spent all day pulling my losses back, nearly there now but I hate trading all day for nothing!
I do sometimes place orders outside the money, not that it always works, sometimes these spikes don't fully recover and your counter order ends up being a scratch. Thanks for the suggestion though.
