With regard this mad spike bomber.

I have noticed that these spikes happen when the market is "stable" ....or at the start of a market rise (steady) or fall (steady).

They also come in the "perceived" opporsite direction of the market.

Whilst I have a strategy in place that enables me to open "ghost" "out of the money" postions to counter any potential loss that I may see if I get "spiked" whilst holding my original postion, I think that pooling some kind of information with regard this "spiking" activity, would be useful...and enable us to keep in mind when opening a postion.

It maybe that "buying" insurance (or rather ghost insurance)when opening a postion is now par for the course... especially if that opening postion is in a "stable" market at the start of the "break out".

Any further information would be appreciated.

David.

This guy is a complete nightmare, Ive only just started making money trading pre race after 2 long hard years and I keep getting on the wrong side of him, really knocking me for six, tonight he seems to be focusing on weaker horses that are drifting and waiting until they stable at a price where I would normally think it go some more and bang 5-6k back orders slam the price in!

Maybe this is normal but to my eyes... if this is not manipulation... what is?

Image

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Bets of 22K coming at the same instant on the 1st and 2nd, and a relatively big (big for the money that there was on that horse) bet on the 3rd fav.

I saw it more times during the day in different manners... maybe it's normal and has an explanation... but to me is simply unbelievable and unpredictable right now.

Has this really got any "normal" reason behind?

Cheers!

Hey guys,

I'm still learning to trade. Keeping detailed records of my performance. Stake are small.

I thought I was making progress and within 50 min today I have been hammered by the £10000+ bets appearing on the second and third horse.

In fairness a few of the races in the past hour have had two or three almost joint favs.

Its really demoralizing, especially for a beginner :(

It's not much fun for pros either ;) Don't worry too much though this guy has been around before and he's always ran out of money sooner or later...
