Isn't immigration about how many people we need? We haven't been training our own people. The Labour Manifesto addresses this.
I saw this trend in IT. The argument seems to be "We don't have the skills. OK, Go out and buy them", often at consultancy rates. The alternative is to invest in the people you have but I have to tell you I never ever saw my bosses invest in us rather than bring in contractors on three times what we were earning.
Why? In one case my manager told me that the backhander from agencies was a nice little earner.
Quick, expensive fix.
I think there is a big difference between legal immigration (People we need) and illegal immigration. The former you can control, the latter is more difficult. Which a number of countries are struggling with. The discussion is what do you do with them and to some extent why should they be queue jumping for accomadation, that maynot be true but there is a perception they are in certain areas.
I actually would not make a distinction like that. We truly have no idea what skills or contribution illegals could make to our country.
Of course it's outside our defined processes, but humans don't really fit with process. Lets face it. If we applied our asylum process to the rioters we would be deporting them if we could, but it ain't that easy.

Well, the UK did use to deport undesirables to Australia. 😂

Fuck international law. I know what a migrant is, even if you don't. She didn't say we need a fair share of migrants as defined by international law, so don't try and twist things.
Fuck international law
And then you accuse me of
so don't try and twist things
Jeez, I'm off for a jog

What a F*kn joke
"Fuck international law" is not twisting anything. I was just saying I'm talking in English, not legal terminology. And so was Angela Rayner. You seem to have very limited understanding.

Just so there is no misunderstanding between us about what a migrant, immigrant, illegal immigrant, asylum seeker is let's just call them 'illegal Tourists' shall we. It'll make the discussion a lot simpler.

So somebody who migrates to this country legally is an illegal tourist? Prince Harry is an illegal tourist even though he's welcome to the US?

As a devotee of folk music, we deported people to Oz on a whim fuelled by the need for slave labour to colonise. But hell. They've done pretty well for themselves. :-)

Exactly the same as somebody who comes to this country on a large ship or aircraft. The size of the vehicle is irrelevant, it's the circumstances that count.

If someone shoplifts he's committing an illegal act, it doesn't make him an illegal human being, which implies that he's not entitled to be a human being.

That would have made more sense if you'd said that back to front

Ok, I understand that you can't understand and never will understand what we are talking about

I've mentioned it before but why does FFS feel it necessary to repeat statements. He's like mini-Trump. Repetition does not equal a winning argument, if anything it equals desperation to force a view that is clearly nonsense. You ain't fooling anyone FFS.

You don't understand anything. Anything you think you understand is just a mental delusion.

I've at least explained precisely why your thinking is wrong, which is more than you can do, or will ever be capable of doing.

I think he might be 10-12 years old. There's certainly a very childish element to him.
