just kind of replicated your graph, looking forward into putting it into practice tomorrow, hopefully it's a reasonable day to get the best out of it, all I need to do is get my head trying to understand it, to which I think I do, thanks Shaun, massive help
Whoa...steady on Korattt! I'm not offering any guarantees. :) I'm just a rookie myself and still trying this and that. I'm full time but that doesn't make me a pro, not by a long chalk.

Do I have that chart displayed, yes. Do I look at this chart, probably not as much as I should. It's only in the last few months that I've found time to blink. Seriously though, I probably spend more time looking at the 2nd, 3rd and 4th fav ladders than I do looking at anything other than the orders on the fav (or the one i'm trading). Glad it gave you some ideas, if it works, let me know and I'll start looking at it more !

I imagine it would be problematic to load or dump the historical data every time the mouse hovers over a ladder or a selection. I often move the mouse very quickly from one ladder to another when I'm watching the screen, and it's unconscious most of the time.
Mike
Sounds plausible. A hover delay parameter would fix that potential problem. It's fine as it is really, all these extra non essential lines of code eventually start to slow down the essential stuff.

The betangel enhanced chart is the best tool around imo. A lot of videos where people don't use them which I don't know why. For me they are gold mine for knowing if a trend is slowing up or reversing.

Don't worry Shaun, I understand it no quick fix to that pot of gold etc, just looked at it kind of understood where you're coming from with it.

It's only up until recently I've started using the advanced charting tool & started playing around with it. I configured one akin to yours & I was watching it in action yesterday during the Rovers v United game just to get a feel on how it monitored price action & movement, yesterday was more of a playing around & learning day rather than actual trading, to be honest I hadn't a clue what Price Envelopes were & how they help display what goes on with regards volatility.

I kind of guessing that when a Price Envelope 'bubble' opens it's warning of increased volatility & when it closes the the opposite?

A strange one - this was the early fav, though the market was really weak for this one.

I avoid Irish now, shame as there seems to be some real big drifts, I used to always end up on the wrong side of them

I'm still not sure why I get -ve volume amounts, but they're no big deal.
I don't really understand that either
I've found it.
I see you're using Infragistics components in BA (that grid in Guardian always felt like one of theirs). I had similar graphics glitches using their stuff. There's nothing you can do about it, it is what it is. Your guys need a pat on the back though for wrangling some sense out of that UltraWinGrid component, it's a swine, or at least it used to be. I always seemed to be RePainting the damn thing or when that didn't work doing a tiny resize (and back) to force it to fill. Really good set of components for the price though, a real timesaver.

The Apterix chart above was chiefly the result of the totally unfair (to backers at least) reduction factors which betfair apply to odds-on non-runners.

Its odd how the odds of a horse can change so dramatically when another runner is removed, surely for it to drift like that the price before the removal was incorrect?
