It all comes down to Betfair's definition of "projected Electoral College votes". This could in fact mean any projection by anyone at any time.Trader Pat wrote: ↑Thu Nov 19, 2020 7:17 pmApparently it is to some people!Tuco wrote: ↑Thu Nov 19, 2020 7:09 pm...exactly Pat - it's not rocket science!Trader Pat wrote: ↑Thu Nov 19, 2020 7:04 pmIts like Derek says which is why I'm amazed people were backing Harris and Pence after election day. Betfair will settle the market as and when they choose. Doesn't matter what Brian or Suzanne at CNN say. Don't know why it matters, an open market is an open opportunity. If Biden has won with no doubt whatsoever then take the 5% on offer, you would have to wait a while for a 5% Dividend to pay out or even to gain 5% on your savings. I dont get it, if there is no doubt in your minds take the free money, plenty on offer.

It seems pretty black and white to me Jamie.
This market will be settled according to the candidate that has the most projected Electoral College votes won at the 2020 presidential election.
Pretty self explanatory, Biden is projected to win 306 Trump 232.
Any subsequent events such as a ‘faithless elector’ will have no effect on the settlement of this market.
I read that to say whatever the electors say next month is irrelevant.
Notice in the rules Betfair say projected Electoral College votes. If the electors turn up next month and give their votes to Trump he would have the votes, he wouldn't be projected to have the votes.
For me the reason Betfair haven't settled the market is because Trump hasn't conceded. I'd expect the market to close after the electors meet next month.
The last sentence in that screen grab from the rules says all we need to know.jameegray1 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 19, 2020 7:47 pmAbsolutely!jamesg46 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 19, 2020 7:42 pmBetfair will settle the market as and when they choose. That the market is open and this is also stated in the rules. I dont care when they settle the market.
Whats really at the forefront of my attention right now is the Trump legal teams press conference and it appears Rudy's hair die is running down his cheek because he's sweating so bad.

Its not about what I perceive as true or false, thats the courts job. Ill wait and see what the outcome is before making judgement of my own. Like I said, its all about the piss take atm.Trader Pat wrote: ↑Thu Nov 19, 2020 8:27 pmIf you're taking anything Rudy has to say seriously then I worry for you James!
