Sad to hear your news mate i been off hear a while and pop in now and then to see what's new but so sad to hear this and i hope your still around but i suspect your few weeks have passed now but i just wanted to say you been very entertaining over the years sorry for your bad news you will be missed Deka .
as we haven't heard anything from Derek since Sun Jul 06, 2025 20:45, I think I have to mournfully assume that he has sadly, finally passed after his brief, but positive struggle.
As noted in previous posts to this, Derek was a fine and often politely combative contributor. This year, he definitely would have had something to say about his tomatoes - just a shame he wasn't able to share his passions and observations.
Well, i'd like to raise a final glass (tho for sure won't be the final time *dezza* is mentioned) and say, all the best Derek and thank you for elevating the personal post count beyond which few will reach
. And on a more serious note, thanks for reminding me in particular of the importance in treasuring each day and those around us..

I was actually thinking of Derek earlier. We've had a bumper crop of Sungold tomatoes this year, and they still keep coming. He popped into my head as I picked the latest ripe ones

ps
probably best to ignore the idiot
Almost posted something similar. As a non-drinker I was gifted some booze recently and it felt right to make an exception by toasting Derek over dinner the other day.jimibt wrote: ↑Mon Sep 08, 2025 3:54 pmas we haven't heard anything from Derek since Sun Jul 06, 2025 20:45, I think I have to mournfully assume that he has sadly, finally passed after his brief, but positive struggle.
