but unlikely so on here so it would seem.
Whats happened to Ukraine crisis thread?
That's really where the problem lies. When I don't respond you up the ante, to the point of claiming I'd be raping women after I've had a few beers!
Absolutely not! We're all grown up on here with trading and other things to do. Nobody, even on a Saturday night when we've finished trading purposely goes looking for an argument. You need to drop this long-held belief.

In recent months we've (& if you like, i) have become wrapped up in forum debates, endlessly one after the other.
It's got to the point where I believe that, I & others are literally looking for opportunities to direct negativity towards others, maybe we've become so stale? Although there is some great times too!
My point is, nobody really cares about our spats, we do maybe, but looking in from the perspective of someone just joining the forum, we're not helping. I love seeing fresh faces, fresh conversations & i honestly believe we're stunting that growth.
Pat, Derek & the countless others I've purposely offended (gone out of my way to do so), fuck you & long may it continue.... JUST JOKING! Sorry boys, let's bury it & be mindful of how intimidating we can come across in an environment that should be welcoming.
I’ve said my piece & won’t start a back and forth with you over it but I will comment this, last night I was on your ignore list… one post, one day later by me and I’m here with a notification from Derek rebutting. You had solved the whole forum issue in regards to our spats last night. I guess you really would miss me.Derek27 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 06, 2022 4:28 pmThat's really where the problem lies. As often happens when I read Pat's notes, I concur. It's enjoyable to be able to express opinions freely, as long as being respectful and polite and adhering to standards of basic civility - not too much to ask here, surely?Trader Pat wrote: ↑Wed Apr 06, 2022 1:21 pmThe problem isn't the subject, I think most people on here are capable of debating, discussing and disagreeing on all kinds of issues without it getting personal.
Let's be honest, the more general threads that get shut down are usually because of the same people spreading conspiracy BS or going too far with their trolling and insults.
If deemed absolutely necessary, a warning or time-out (temporary ban) for those consistently flouting the rules is logical, though disappointing that it's needed at all with grown adults on a trading-related forum. I actually pity Dallas, Peter and any other Mods that have to wade through the crap to determine who / what comments cross the line. Self-awareness and decorum seems to be a declining theme, sadly.

I agree with all of that. Caveat being there are no rules for this forum it is about being adult, opinionated (hopefully referenced) and respectful of other opinions.Crazyskier wrote: ↑Wed Apr 06, 2022 5:09 pmAs often happens when I read Pat's notes, I concur. Rather than juvenile squabbling based on entrenched personal views. Data, data, data. And I will confess I can do better. I am trying, honest!

Personally I value the off-topic discussion element of this forum. At least here there is a moderately intelligent, logical and commercial mindset unlike most of the rest of the internet.
The mods are responsible for setting forum boundaries. Failure to do so means there will always be individuals who cannot adhere to basic netiquette rules and who will look to abuse this freedom, or those who for whatever reason have trouble seeing where the line should be drawn.Crazyskier wrote: ↑Wed Apr 06, 2022 5:09 pmI actually pity Dallas, Peter and any other Mods that have to wade through the crap to determine who / what comments cross the line. You should be given moderation authority to delete spats and replace it with a summary.Kai wrote: ↑Wed Apr 06, 2022 11:38 amHonestly fed up with everything, saw the latest late night incident the next morning, no point covering it up, what happened is simple. James called Derek a rapist after one too many tasteless jokes and Derek understandably went ballistic and told him to go screw himself, more than once.
But what is pointless is locking and deleting posts and threads or endlessly reprimanding people, punishing everyone for the actions of one, or a few. With these late night drinking sessions all filters are clearly gone and nobody wants to read this nastiness. Allowing any one person so much power to completely ruin a discussion/topic for everyone is a terrible forum policy.
In trading terms, it might be time to cut one bad trade and just accept the loss. How can we call ourselves traders if we can't recognize a simple repeating pattern? I'm all for second chances and I'm glad James was given several, but I'm getting increasingly worried about his mental health if he has really started to enjoy the role of forum antagonist, for his sake as well I think he needs to stop actively seeking conflict with everyone.
In all honesty, people were permabanned for less.

Are you sure you weren't drinking that night too

You were the first to report one of the posts that night shortly after the argument seemed to start just after midnight, before it descended rapidly and then moved on to the God thread.
One of Kai's well timed obligatory meme's was one of the lasts posts the following morning which just about summed the episode
