I believe that Farage is the best-placed out of possible future leaders to deliver some much needed serious change. Whether the civil service would allow him to succeed I don't know.

What I'm not understanding is Starmer and Reeves (BTW, has anyone heard from her ... she's gone as distant as Osbourne was after the Brexit referendum result! ) knew they were going to have to break manifesto pledges to balance the books and all Burnham has done is spend, spend, spend so his books will be even more unbalanced. Has a new version of arithmetic been invented that I missed? I was taught that minus + minus = bigger minus

Dreading that Budget already on 28th October. It is highlighted in my diary. It isn't going to be good for us taxpayers, workers, business owners, savers, investors, or basically anybody who contributes something worthwhile to this country. I have no problem with genuine out of work benefit claimants, (in fact they should receive more) and I know a couple of really ill people who cannot work and would love to. However there are way too many malingerers. Parasites on our society, they have no shame. Make them clean the streets or do something useful, rather than just leeching off the rest of us. I saw Burnham saying every area has to house their share of illegal migrants. Let's see how that works out eh.

Oh dear Naffman, come on ... the error of taking statistics as read without consideration of influences. The Bin got 25% because all the other major parties told their electorate to vote for The Bin, had they put up candidates 'it' (he or she?) would have lost their deposit. Do you bet on markets with disregard to recent injuries/transfers and changes in management?

Burnham's countrywide dispersion is going to shift the polls significantly. However, a younger, charismatic, less tainted figure, to replace Farage, is needed for the sheep to move right. The tory's final betrayal will be to split the vote and will be more likely to form a pact with lab/lib/grn in the interests of 'preventing extremists'.. There's is no level they will not stoop to.

My prediction would be that Andy Pandy announces many cheap small handouts and then call an election enabling him to claim "look, I gave you back this ... I gave you back that while not putting up taxes [yet]". Hand the money out before the election and claw it back after. What will stop him is if the electorate see through him and realise Government spending has to be severely cut ... welfare, cost of illegal immigrants etc. The October budget should give us an indication which way he is looking. It's well known Starmer and Reeves (where is she?) knew they had to raise taxes and so far Andy Pandy has given albeit small handouts but handouts they are without increasing Healey's income so their books will be not only in a worse state of balance than S&R's but also Truss's and remember what Labour said about them (which will be conveniently forgotten!)
